Sexton Pulls Away to Top Crosstown Rival Eastern, 64–47

LANSING, MI (2-10-26) — J.W. Sexton’s Keyshawn Summerville (#1) and the J-DUBBS used a strong second half at the Don Johnson Fieldhouse to defeat crosstown rival Eastern 64–47.

LANSING, MI (2-10-26) — In a crosstown showdown at the Don Johnson Fieldhouse, the J.W. Sexton High School J-DUBBS used a strong second half to separate from Eastern High School and secure a 64–47 victory.

The rivalry matchup was competitive early, with Sexton holding a narrow 13–11 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Defense set the tone in the second, as the J-DUBBS limited Eastern to just two points to extend the lead to 22–13 at halftime.

Sexton broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Quakers 24–14 to build a commanding 46–27 advantage heading into the final period. From there, the J-DUBBS stayed composed, maintaining control and closing out the win with steady execution on both ends of the floor.

Keyshawn Summerville (#1) led Sexton with 12 points, while Markese. Murray (#30) added 11 and Mario Murray (#0) contributed 10 to round out a balanced scoring effort. Eastern was paced by I. Curtis (#12), who finished with a game-high 22 points.

With the victory, Sexton improves to 18–2 on the season, while Eastern falls to 7–11.
