MULLIKEN, MI (3-27-26) — For more than four decades, La Corporación has been a staple in the Tejano music scene, bringing generations together through rhythm, culture, and unforgettable performances. Now, the group is set to celebrate an incredible milestone—46 years of music—with a free community dance event on March 27 at the Mulliken Roadhouse.
Led by Pablo “Kookie” Hernandez, La Corporación’s journey is rooted in family, passion, and a lifelong love of music.
“The love of the music… since I was a kid, 9 years old, I loved seeing my dad perform and my older brothers performing and loved it,” Hernandez shared, reflecting on the early inspiration that shaped his musical path.
That foundation turned into a lifelong pursuit. Hernandez explained that before La Corporación fully took shape, he spent years collaborating and learning.
“I was playing with other bands and friends, but things ended up in the same boat, so I went on exploring on my own and things started moving on,” he said.
That turning point led to the formation of a group that would go on to leave a lasting impact on the regional music scene.
“I got together with my brother, Joe ‘Jaws’ Herrera, and Arturo Lopez, Ramon Garza, and things started to move on,” Hernandez added.
From those early days to now celebrating 46 years, La Corporación has built a reputation for energetic live performances and a deep connection with their audience—something that continues to draw loyal fans to the dance floor.
The anniversary celebration will feature raffles, drink specials, and food available for purchase, with dancing from 8 p.m. to midnight. The event is free, offering the community a chance to celebrate alongside one of the region’s most enduring musical acts.
As La Corporación marks this milestone, their story remains one of passion, perseverance, and the power of music to bring people together—qualities that have defined their legacy for nearly half a century.
