COMSTOCK PARK, MI (4-27-26) — The West Michigan Whitecaps closed April at 12-9, just one game out of first place in the Midwest League East after a strong opening month fueled by timely hitting and solid series wins.
West Michigan opened the season with a 1-0 road win, then took a 2-1 series victory over the Lake County Captains. After falling 7-3 in the home opener to the Great Lakes Loons, the Whitecaps later caught fire on the road and swept the Lansing Lugnuts 6-0.
