DETROIT, MI (4-22-26) — More than 200 volunteers gathered in Corktown for a successful Earth Day neighborhood cleanup hosted by The Clean Up Club, continuing what is quickly becoming a meaningful annual tradition in the city.

With support from Credit Union One and Cold Truth Soft Serve, volunteers worked throughout the neighborhood collecting nearly 1,200 pounds of trash during the second annual Earth Day event.

This year’s cleanup featured even more energy and community participation than the inaugural gathering, highlighted by a special appearance from Terrion Arnold of the Detroit Lions, who joined participants in supporting the cause.

Organizers also introduced limited-edition Earth Day shirts, adding another unique element to the growing tradition and giving volunteers a keepsake tied to community service and environmental pride.

The event reflects the growing momentum behind neighborhood beautification efforts across Detroit, where residents and supporters continue to come together to make a visible impact block by block.

Those who missed this year’s event will have another opportunity next spring. In the meantime, The Clean Up Club encourages residents to participate in upcoming spring and summer cleanup events throughout the region.
