DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Tigers will once again be well represented on baseball’s biggest midsummer stage after Riley Greene #31, Dillon Dingler #13, and rookie Kevin McGonigle #7 were selected to the American League roster for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, scheduled for July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

The trio reflects the Tigers’ continued rise as one of Major League Baseball’s premier teams and highlights the organization’s successful commitment to developing homegrown talent.

Greene earned his third consecutive All-Star selection, cementing his place among the American League’s elite outfielders. The dynamic left-handed hitter has once again been a catalyst in Detroit’s lineup, combining power, consistency, and Gold Glove-caliber defense while helping keep the Tigers atop the American League standings.

Behind the plate, Dingler’s breakout season has been rewarded with his first career All-Star selection. His outstanding defensive play, leadership of Detroit’s pitching staff, and offensive production have made him one of baseball’s most complete catchers. Dingler also becomes the Tigers’ first All-Star catcher in 15 years.

Perhaps the biggest story belongs to McGonigle. At just 21 years old, the rookie infielder has quickly become one of baseball’s brightest young stars. His All-Star selection caps a remarkable first half in which he showcased exceptional plate discipline, timely hitting, and mature defense beyond his years. McGonigle becomes the first Tigers player since the legendary Mark Fidrych to earn an All-Star selection at age 21, joining an exclusive group that also includes Al Kaline.

The selections continue a resurgence for the Tigers, who have emerged as one of the American League’s top clubs while building around a talented young core that has energized Comerica Park throughout the season.

La Prensa Latina News Wire congratulates Riley Greene, Dillon Dingler, Kevin McGonigle, Manager A.J. Hinch, and the entire Detroit Tigers organization on this well-deserved recognition. The future continues to look bright in the Motor City.
