DEWITT, MI (1-28-26) — Sixth-ranked Grand Ledge continued its strong Division 1 campaign with a convincing 61–15 road victory over DeWitt on Tuesday night.
The Comets controlled the dual from the opening bout, winning 11 of 14 matches and recording eight falls. Early pins from Collin Bancroft (113), Jackson Brown (120), and Tucker Harkins (126) set the tone and allowed Grand Ledge to build a sizable lead.
Additional falls came from Marcus Schamehorn (132), Eben Abdo (138), Ashton Delaney (175), Justyce Simpson (190), Logan Tollison (285), and Brayden Phillips (106). Maddoc Taszreak added a major decision at 150 pounds, while Jack Bull secured a decision at 165.
DeWitt earned wins from Rowan Reed at 144 pounds by major decision and Tyler Bashore at 157 pounds with a technical fall over Division 1–ranked Timothy Hubert.
The dual also served as Senior Night for DeWitt, honoring nine seniors prior to competition.
On the girls side, DeWitt won four of five matches, with Grand Ledge’s lone victory coming from Lillyanna Kushman at 145 pounds.
Grand Ledge remains one of the state’s top Division 1 programs as it moves closer to postseason competition.
