Second-Half Surge Lifts Haslett Over Holt

HASLETT, MI (2-19-26) — The Haslett Vikings girls basketball team erased a halftime deficit and surged in the second half to defeat the visiting Holt Rams, 64-61, in a Capital Area Activities Conference crossover showdown.

Trailing 19-13 after the opening quarter, the Vikings settled in offensively but still went into halftime down 31-28 as Holt controlled the tempo early behind junior Olivia Gadson (#11), who finished with a game-high 25 points. Maya Barker added 17 for the Rams.

Haslett flipped the script in the third quarter.

Senior Kaitlyn Johnson (#23) sparked the rally, finishing with 23 points to lead the Vikings. Christina Dixon (#3) added 13, while Calista Blue (#4) also contributed 13 as Haslett outscored Holt 21-14 in the third to take a 49-45 lead into the fourth.

Holt made a late push, but the Vikings executed down the stretch, controlled key possessions, and held off the Rams to secure the three-point win.

Haslett improves to 17-2 overall and 9-0 in the Capital Area Activities Conference-Red, while Holt falls to 15-4 overall and 11-1 in the Capital Area Activities Conference-Blue.
