LANSING, MI (2-27-26) — The title defense rolls on.

Inside Phil Odlum Gymnasium on the campus of Lansing Waverly, reigning Division 1 State Champion East Lansing outlasted the Warriors 92-78 in a high-scoring postseason battle to advance in the MHSAA tournament.

The Trojans showcased the same pace, depth, and offensive efficiency that carried them to last year’s state championship, breaking the 90-point mark in a hostile road environment. Waverly kept the pressure on throughout, but East Lansing’s experience and composure proved decisive down the stretch.

With the win, East Lansing advances to Region 3 play.

The Trojans will face Kalamazoo Loy Norrix on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. at Robert Quiring Gymnasium on the Loy Norrix campus. In the earlier semifinal at 5:30 p.m., Kalamazoo Central will take on Jackson High School.

The winners meet Thursday, March 5, at 7:00 p.m. for the Region 3 Championship, with the victor continuing the march toward the ultimate destination — the Breslin Center, site of the MHSAA Division 1 State Championship.

For East Lansing, the mission remains unchanged: defend the crown and make another run to Breslin.
