DETROIT, MI — Walking into HuntingtonPlace on Tuesday, it was immediately clear that Ford wasn’t just previewing vehicles — it was making a statement about where its off-road future is headed.
Ford hosted “Detroit Proud: Off-Road Edition,” a special media event that doubled as its press preview for the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. The highlight of the afternoon was the unveiling of the 2027 Ford Bronco RTR, a bold new addition to the Bronco lineup that blends aggressive styling with serious trail-ready performance. Ford officials described it as delivering Raptor-like capability at a more attainable price point, positioning it squarely for off-road enthusiasts who want performance without the premium.
Another announcement that stood out was confirmation that the North American Ford Ranger Tremor is set to arrive later in 2026, expanding Ford’s Tremor off-road family and signaling continued investment in adventure-focused trucks across multiple segments.
Beyond the vehicles, Ford leaned into Michigan pride with the announcement of Michigan Overland Adventure, an immersive exhibit coming to the 2026 Detroit Auto Show. In partnership with Carhartt, the exhibit will feature custom trucks, off-road SUVs, and expedition gear built for exploration — a clear nod to the state’s outdoor culture and rugged terrain.
Motorsports also had a strong presence. Representatives from Oracle Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One teams revealed plans to launch their 2026 F1 season in Detroit, reinforcing Ford’s growing global racing ambitions while keeping its hometown firmly in the spotlight.
